Practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays (300 yen/session). Entry in Wako City and local four-city tournaments. |

| Baseball (and softball) |
The main activity is softball. Regular evening practices, April through September. The club participates in the Wako City Night Game Softball Tournament in July. Members include veterans and novices. Everyone welcome.

| Fishing |
Two or three competitions a year. Primarily sea fishing for seasonal fish from a boat. |

| Flower Arrangement |
Meets three Fridays a month at lunchtime. Workshops once a month and exhibitions once a year. |

| Gardening |
Vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Occasional harvest fests. |

| Go (igo) |
Free games at lunchtime in the Kyosai-kai's Japanese-style room throughout the year. Two or three outside competitions per year. Summer camp. |

| Golf |
Two tournaments a year, in spring and autumn. Periodic practice at golf range on campus. Members arrange own golfing matches on a volunteer basis. |

| Kanze Kai (Noh) |
Two lessons a month. |

| Kobe Mountain Climbing |
Kobe City course (twice a month), mountain tours, and participation in Kobe Rokko Zenju Rally covering the whole Rokko range. |

| Kobe Tennis |
Campus tennis tournament (1 or 2 tournaments a year). Lessons with professional coaches at four levels on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. |

| Mountain Climbing |
Climbing throughout the four seasons, both low and high mountains. Primarily hiking along ridges. Climbing tools and equipment available. |

| Musical Instruments |
One or two practice sessions a month. |

| Photography |
Campus exhibits, photo sessions, and free posting of photos in the RIKEN barbershop, on the internal website, and on the RIKEN Natural Environment website. |

| Pottery |
Pottery-making twice a month (usually the first and third Saturdays of each month) . Exhibition once a year. Free to make whatever you want. |

| RIKEN Nature- Friend |
Nature viewing at lunchtime. RIKEN Natural Environment website, campus clean-up days, protecting and conserving the natural environment. |

| Running |
Campus self-reporting time races twice a year. Relay marathon camp 1-2 times a year. Individual entry by members in national and overseas marathons. |

| Soccer |
Member of the Japan Football Association. Many friendly games. Practice at lunchtime at the Wako campus sports field. Soccer is a sport you can enjoy well into your 60s! |

| Table Tennis |
Practice at lunchtime. Campus tournaments sponsored by the Kyosai-kai and the RIKEN Labor Union. Visit the table tennis room at lunchtime to join. |

| Tai Chi |
Lessons from 6:00 p.m. at the Wako campus. No lessons in August. |

| Tea Ceremony |
Three lessons a month, on Tuesdays from 5:20 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the small Japanese-style room at the Kyosai-kai. |

| Tennis (hard ball) |
Tournaments, goodwill games, tennis camp. City and prefectural tournaments. |

| Tennis (soft ball) |
Daily at lunchtime. Summer camp, goodwill games, outside games and campus tournaments. Players of all levels are welcome. |

| Tsukuba Tennis Club |
Tsukuba Tennis Club hosts an Annual Tennis Tournament to promote good relations between members of all laboratories in the RIKEN Tsukuba Institute. There are matches for all levels, from beginner to advanced, for everyone to enjoy. Prizes awarded. |

At Hayama Harbor from May to October. Safety instructions and navigation practice. Camps in spring and summer. Additional practice sessions as necessary. |
