The Wako Institute has tennis courts, badminton courts, and an all-purpose field. There are also two Japanese-style tatami rooms that are available for various activities.

The Yokohama Institute has a wood-floored, multipurpose space for seminars that can also reserved for badminton, yoga and aerobics or similar recreational activities. There is also a public indoor multi-pool facility, Fureyu, located a 10-minute walk away.

The Harima Institute is located in Harima Science Garden City, which boasts a golf course, soccer ground, and a community sports center.

Thanks to the cooperation of Kobe City, RIKEN's Kobe Institute and other nearby research institutes have access to two tennis courts with lighting for night use.

The Tsukuba Institute has a rooftop garden, a barbecue area, tennis/volleyball courts with lights, two table tennis tables, as well as karaoke facilities.
